   Responsibilities

  • Sign-up for, complete, and pass the necessary "Manager's Course" put on by the MRA. Upon successful completion, registration costs of the course will be reimbursed by the FGRA.
  • Complete the Respect in Sports program (online) within the specified guidelines.
  • If requested by the coach, secure additional ice time.
  • Ensure practice ice invoices are paid (via the FGRA Ice Scheduler and FGRA Treasurer).
  • Enter the team into tournaments as determined by the coach.
  • Maintain and administer the finances of the team and issues a statement to all parents at the end of the year. A mid-season financial statement is also strongly encouraged.
  • Organize a team windup.
  • Secure the team's equipment from the team community centre; supplied equipment includes sweaters, pants (where applicable), goalie equipment and rings.
  • Notify players & parents of changes/cancellations to games and/or practices
  • Organize exhibition games as determined by the coach; this includes getting referees, timekeepers, and ice.
  • Obtain required birth certificates from team members.
  • Obtain any health-related issues from players and parents regarding the players and inform team staff accordingly.
  • Organize team photographs if the players/parents request them.
  • Organize team fundraising events (optional).
  • Support the parents of their players through sharing of information and responding to individual questions.
