FGRA Council Roles & Responsibilities

   All Council Members

  • Will strive to attend the monthly FGRA Council Meetings.
  • Promote and support the FGRA mission statement and core values.
  • If required; on an alternating basis, will attend monthly and annual APFG and WRL meetings with Past Convenor.

   Convenor

  • Oversees the administration of the entire FGRA program.
  • Keeps Council up-to-date on new information streaming from governing bodies (APFG, WRL, MRA & Ringette Canada).
  • Attend the monthly FGRA Council meetings.
  • Attend the monthly APFG Board meetings.
  • Attend the annual APFG AGM.
  • Attend the annual WRL AGM.
  • Works with Age Level Convenors to set teams.
  • Works with Council to set registration fees.

   Past Convenor

  • Mentors and assists the Convenor with FGRA program administration.
  • Assumes the duties of the Convenor if the Convenor is unavailable.

   Treasurer

  • Handles all financial transactions of the Council.
  • Prepares a statement of revenues and expenses of the Council for each meeting.
  • Ensures financial statements are reviewed annually by an independent accountant and presents findings to the Council.

   Equipment Manager

  • Maintains an accurate equipment inventory list of all equipment owned by FGRA.
  • Ensures equipment remains in good condition and is safely stored during the offseason.
  • Coordinates equipment drop off and pick up for all FGRA teams.
  • Handles all equipment purchases as decided by Council.

   Age Level Convenor

  • Handles all inquiries (in-person, by phone or via email) relating to age level.
  • Informs all registered players in their level of tryout/evaluation schedules.
  • Works with Convenor to create balanced teams.
  • Provides complete rosters to coaches once teams are selected.
  • Assists coaches to clarify league rules & guidelines.
  • Ensures coaches are adequately certified.
  • Assists Registrar with annual registration.

   Ice Scheduler

  • Coordinates the scheduling of all ice within FGRA.
  • Communicates ice schedule to age-level convenors.

   Webmaster

  • Maintains all aspects of www.fgra.ca.
  • Provides technical support to all Council email users.

   Registrar

  • Works with Council to set in-person registration dates.
  • Coordinates all logistics pertaining to in-person registration dates including promotion, scheduling of volunteers etc.
  • Updates and maintains registration database and ensures safekeeping of database.
  • Provides age level convenors with registered players database for pertinent level.
  • Handles all inquiries to sent registrar@fgra.ca.
  • Ensures team rosters and complete and filed with MRA by set deadline.
  • Maintains roster additions and deletions throughout the season.

   Members at Large

   These positions have been removed until all FGRA Board positions have been filled.

  • Broadens the Council's representation of the FGRA parent pool and provides new insight at Council meetings.
  • Assists, as needed, with other Council positions.
  • Develops knowledge of other Council roles for future consideration of a different role within the Council.
